Playing Style

Because of his technical skills, dribbling ability, and impressive passing range, the 18-year-old midfielder has already been compared to Pogba.

He is primarily a central midfielder, but he is equally at home in defensive and attacking midfield, giving his team versatility and mobility.

Mainoo enjoys beating people in the middle of the park with his dribbling ability. He combines this with exceptional passing ability and physicality. The youngster’s game awareness is already above what one would expect from a player his age, thanks to his great vision.

Receiving the ball in tight spaces, he’s a master at extracting time and space from a tense situation, always showing for the ball and never shirking responsibility.

In an ideal world, Mainoo would be the type of all-action midfielder that United has lacked since Michael Carrick.
